Community in the music world

Sometimes, you need to put the brakes on, get out of your routine, and get some community in your life. As musicians juggling all kinds of things to stay afloat and keep making music, time spent with our community is essential. Even if just to commiserate! We did just that on June 29th at the Songwriter’s Association of Washington’s (SAW) Community Day event. This is a yearly gathering, and it’s really well attended and organized. Everyone was really nice and open to sharing ideas, struggles, successes, and some tunes. Social media can be a great way to stay connected with people, but nothing beats real honest to goodness face time. We got to play a few tunes for everyone, and Claudia gave an introduction to the Complete Vocal Technique she teaches via www.totalvocals.com. It was great fun, and hope to do it again next year.
