One Day NERFA in D.C.

We attended the One Day Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) mini-conference in D.C. June 9th. The mini-conference aims to give people an idea of what happens at the yearly NERFA held in November in Kerhonkson, NY. Though it’s impossible to give someone the NERFA experience in just one day (how can you make sure everyone is sleep deprived, for example?) We think they got the point across and it was a successful event. Workshops were held, networking and idea sharing happened, capped off by an official showcase of some local and not so local performers. We always leave regional Folk Alliance events with new ideas and some wind in our sails. We had a great time and really enjoyed meeting new folks and catching up with old friends.

Did you attend? What was the best part of the mini-conference for you?

We are looking forward to seeing some pics from the day- we saw a lot of cameras in use! Kate helped out with the showcases from the stage and got some pics from that vantage point. Pictured below are Brad Yoder with Angelo M sitting in, (Angelo also had his own showcase slot) Brad Yoder solo, Patty Reese, and Robert Bobby. Other showcase artists were Burning Bridget Cleary, Steve Chizmadia, Gathering Time, Marci Geller, and Woody Lissauer.
