What’s with your name?

We get asked this a lot: “How did you come up with your name?”

Our name Beggar’s Ride comes from an old saying “if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.” If you look it up on Wikipedia, you’ll see this:

“If wishes were horses, beggars would ride” is an English language proverb and nursery rhyme, originating in the 16th century, which is usually used to suggest that it is useless to wish and that better results will be achieved through action.

Kind of perfect for us- we have big dreams like most of you reading this, and we’d better get to it! We changed a little bit in the phrase and made it possessive, which is our way of saying, “This is it! This is the ride!”

So, maybe wishes are horses, and beggars will ride!
